Who is the controller

Vølden Studio, maker of Cheeky. Contact: admin@voldenstudio.com.

It depends on who organises the wedding:

• If it is organised by a company that is a Cheeky client (for example, an events company), the controller of your data is that company: it decides about the caricatures of its event and you can contact it directly. You will see its name, tax ID, address and contact on the screen shown before the selfie and above, under “At this wedding”. Vølden Studio processes the data on its behalf as processor, under a contract that complies with Article 28 GDPR.
• At all other weddings, the controller is Vølden Studio.

In any case, if you write to Vølden Studio we will help you or pass your request on to the responsible company.

What guest data we process

• Your selfie: it is sent to the artificial intelligence service to draw you. We do not store it anywhere; the AI provider may keep it for a few days only to detect abuse.
• Your caricature, the name and the message you write, and the costume or object if you choose one.
• A random identifier for your phone (we cannot tell who you are from it) and an irreversible summary (hash) of your connection, only to limit how many caricatures are made and prevent abuse.
• If you ask to print it, the print request.
• The record of your consent: which version of these texts you accepted, when, and from which random phone identifier.

Purpose and legal basis

To make your caricature, show it on the screen and in the wedding gallery, print it if you ask, and let the couple include it in their keepsake poster. We do not use it for advertising or anything else.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR), which is also the authorisation to use your image required by Spanish Organic Law 1/1982. You give it by ticking the boxes shown before the selfie, after seeing this information; without ticking them the caricature cannot be made. We keep a record that you gave it, because the law requires us to be able to prove it.

You can withdraw it at any time, just as easily: with the “Delete my caricature” button when it is done, or by writing to the contact above. Withdrawing it does not affect what was done before (for example, a copy already printed).

We do not identify you or use facial recognition: the AI only uses your selfie to draw the caricature.

While the wedding is open, anyone with the wedding link can see the caricature gallery; it stops being visible at the latest 14 days after it closes.

Who else is involved (processors)

• Google (Gemini API) receives the selfie to draw the caricature, under its paid API terms (it does not use it to train its models).
• Supabase stores the caricatures and wedding data (servers in the European Union).
• Cloudflare serves this website.
• The couple and the organising company see the caricatures of their event.

Some of these providers are based in the United States; transfers rely on the EU‑US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

How long

Caricatures are deleted when the organising company or the couple delete the wedding and, in any case, at the latest 12 months later. Technical anti-abuse logs are deleted after 3 months. The record of your consent is kept for 3 years, only to prove that you gave it if anyone claims otherwise.

Cookies and storage on your phone

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The website stores on your phone, only so that it works, the random identifier, your name so you don't have to type it again and, if you sign in to a company account, your session. That is why you don't need to accept cookies.

If you leave your contact at a wedding fair

At fairs and stands you can leave your name, phone or email, and the date and place of your wedding so we can tell you about Cheeky. We only use them for that, with your consent (which you can withdraw at any time). They are seen by Vølden and the events company running the stand, and are deleted at the latest after 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your caricature and your data, object to or restrict their use, or take them with you, by writing to the contact above. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or the authority in your country.

Minors

In Spain you can give consent yourself from the age of 14 (Art. 7 of Organic Law 3/2018). If you are younger, you need permission from your parent or guardian. If other people appear in your photo, you must have their permission (and, if they are under 14, their parents' or guardians').
